About Lim Chong Fong

Lim Chong Fong started his career as a quantity surveyor. He worked in a construction firm in Singapore from 1985 to 1990 before he started his career in legal practice. He was admitted as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1988. From November 1991, he practised in Messrs Azman, Davidson & Co. principally in construction law and arbitration. He became a Partner in 1994.

Areas of Practice

Chong Fong’s primary areas of practice are Building and Construction litigation and arbitration.

Experience

The matters Chong Fong has handled include the following:

  • Advising, drafting and vetting of joint venture agreements, main contracts, sub-contracts and consultancy agreements of construction projects.
  • Resolution of contractual disputes involving defects, delay, extension of time and liquidated damages, prolongation and disruption claims, variation claims, termination of contract, etc.
  • Arbitrated on contractual and commercial disputes involving sub contract final accounting, termination of construction contract and claims for damages.
  • Acts for contractors, professional consultants, sub-contractors and developers as counsel.
  • Sits as arbitrator or adjudicator.
