About Sonia Abraham

Sonia Abraham graduated from the University of Kent, Canterbury in 1994. She has practised at Azman Davidson & Co. since being called to the Malaysian Bar in 1997. She was made a partner of the firm in 2005.

Qualifications and Admissions

• LLB (Hons), University of Kent (1994)
• Certificate of Legal Practice (1996)
• Advocate and Solicitor, High Court of Malaya (1997)

Areas of Practice

General litigation with a particular involvement in Industrial relations & employment law, construction law, family law, shipping law, carriage of goods by sea, and landlord and tenant matters.

Experience

The matters Sonia has handled include the following:

• Advised on employment disputes including dismissals,  reorganization & retrenchment.
• Conducted trials in the Industrial Court & Judicial Review applications in the High Court.
• Negotiating and drafting agreements, including Employment Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Service Agreements.
• Advised on construction matters.
• Conducted and assisted in arbitrations and court proceedings involving building law disputes where she has acted for Employers, Contractors and Consultants.
• Conducted matters in all Malaysian Courts involving contracts, tort, family law, shipping law and carriage of goods by sea disputes.
